(Newser) USA Today's coaches' poll puts USC on top of all college football prospects by a resounding margin, presaging yet another championship year—and potentially another Heisman to add to the 3 Heritage Hall has pulled in over the past 5 seasons. Pete Carroll has assembled a nearly flawless squad, and the offensive duo of J.D. Booty and Joe McKnight are already evoking Leinart and Bush.

Rounding out the top five were LSU, which has yet to pick its starting QB; Florida, which just signed head coach Urban Meyer to a $3.25M/year deal; Texas, where Colt McCoy has bulked up to 208 pounds after looking anemic last year; and Michigan, which still has holes to patch in its defense.
