Stocks rose steadily after a morning dip today, with the Dow closing back over 7,000 points, MarketWatch reports. Bank of America and General Motors shot up 18.2% and 14.5%, respectively, after each announced they don’t expect to ask the government for more bailout cash. The Dow ended up 239.66 at 7,170.06. The Nasdaq rose 54.46, settling at 1,426.10; the S&P 500 closed up 29.38 at 750.74.
