(NEWSER) - British singer-songwriter Adele is getting tons of acclaim for her second album, 21, which is entirely about one person: the guy who broke her heart. In her honor, New York lists 13 of the most deserving exes famously called out in song:

• Nick Jonas: In Miley Cyrus’s “7 Things,” she recounts all the teenage-y wrongs he did her, like being vain and liking other girls.
• John Mayer: Taylor Swift’s “Dear John” is about him, but it didn’t really enact too much vengeance, considering Mayer is probably jazzed Swift penned a song about him.

Beyoncé sets record with 6 Grammys; Swift captures album of the year

(NEWSER) - Beyoncé won six Grammy Awards tonight in Los Angeles, setting a record for a female performer, but was foiled in two high-profile categories. The R&B superstar captured song of the year for "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On it)," while Taylor Swift took home album of the year for "Fearless"—one of the 20-year-old pop-country star's four trophies—and Kings of Leon won Record of the Year for "Use Somebody." • Ashton Kutcher vs. CNN: When Kutcher bet he could reach a million followers first, Larry King predicted, “CNN will bury you.” It didn’t.

She nabs 10 nominations, Swift gets 8

(NEWSER) - Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga will compete to become queen of the 52nd Grammy Awards. The three women were the only artists to score nominations across the Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year categories, meaning one of them may be able to pull off a big sweep. Getting rid of the polka category was good, but more should be done

(NEWSER) - The 52-year-old Grammy Awards, which until recently still featured polka, are more reluctant to make changes than the Oscars and the Emmys. As we wait for tonight’s nominee unveiling, Todd Martens offers up some ideas for how the awards can stay relevant, in the Los Angeles Times :

• Give album of the year to Kanye West: Once a frontrunner, his loudmouth antics now have people doubting whether he’ll even be nominated—but there’s no question that he’s “been the face of hip-hop since 2004,” and he deserves to win.
