Madonna wants to give the son she adopted from Malawi a sibling from his own country, despite the firestorm of controversy she faced the first time around, reports the New York Daily News. The singer—whom critics accused of using her fame to dodge laws in her adoption of David Banda, now 3—says she hopes to adopt one of the nation's million AIDS orphans, but only if the Malawi people approve.

"Many people—especially our Malawian friends—say that David should have a Malawian brother or sister," Madonna told a Malawian newspaper. "It's something I have been considering, but would only do, if I had the support of the Malawian people." (More Malawi stories.)
