(Newser) – A duck who thinks she's a dog has been causing plenty of double-takes in Bournemouth, England, the Daily Telegraph reports. Nine-month-old Essy's owners say the duck wags her tail, tries to bark, and even goes on walks with the family's two Staffordshire terriers who are fiercely protective of their pal and make sure she always walks between them.

Owner Steph Tuft, 25, takes duck Essy on a lead for a walk with her Staffordshire cross dogs Rachka, aged 2 left, and DD, aged 4, in Bournemouth, England.

She goes up to other dogs. People can't understand it and the dogs are really confused as well. We even had to buy Essy her own lead, after getting strange looks from people who thought we were duck-napping.
