Huzzahs for Masters of Change

Share

(Newser) – Saying that “change is no longer a dreamy notion but a reality—and a responsibility,” Rolling Stone lists 100 people from all walks of society with “the power of making people think and making them move.” The top five:

  • Barack Obama: “He has a capacity to do so much in the next 8 years that he’ll leave behind a very different understanding of what government can be—and of America itself,” one analyst says.

  • Larry Page and Sergey Brin: Google founders are changing “the idea that there’s anything you can’t know—or find in three seconds.”
  • Steve Jobs: Apple chief’s triumphs “have improved our world and reshaped industries.”
  • Bono: U2 frontman’s “tireless lobbying of the likes of George W. Bush and Tony Blair helped lead to billions in debt relief and additional aid to Africa.”
  • Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert: Comedy Central mainstays “have always been masters at mocking the way TV pundits cover politicians.”

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert: the problem with these 2 is that the gifted of this nation actually think they are watching a news show. In fact it just another Dem ploy-make fun of what you have no response for. Reply

I've heard that before....people proudly announcing that they get their news from the Daily Show. It's funny, but you're probably just as well off reading the Onion.

NutObsession, The people who actually watch Colbert and Stewart do get their news elsewhere. Being informed is a pre-requisite to even getting their jokes. Too bad you don't understand this. I guess FOX is both a primary news source AND an entertainment show ;-)

Sorry No Nuts but I think you've received plenty of responses from the "gifted" below. Do you get what GregCQ said ? It summarizes the key link you've been missing to enjoy Stewart. Colbert is actually a parody right winger. You oughta love that ! I have a feeling you folks watch TV with the sound off or something. Btw, are you paying NINY a royalty for the name ? Mimicry is the best form of flattery...............
