High Profile Helps Drive Obama Agenda

Omnipresent president risks diluting his brand, experts warn

(Newser) – Don’t look now, but President Obama’s on TV again. And gracing magazine covers, delivering a radio address, even on the Web making NCAA tournament picks. The "Everywhere President” strategy is a gamble, as evidenced by the fact that Republicans haven't retired the "celebrity" put-down. One branding expert tells Politico, “There’s a risk because he is so visible; he’s become the face of everything that happens.”

"He's trying to metaphorically remove the moat from around the presidency, but that can be a dicey kind of thing," cautions a journalism professor. "People can be really fickle about this kind of stuff. It is a tough balancing act." But Obama is able to pull off the familiarity act, says one publicist, because he has “gravitas to spare.”

What's with the slogans NNIPA ? (apparently an NINY dittohead. Mimicry is the best form of falttery). "Barry Hussein" ...now why would you pick that particular phrase to use ? What message are you attempting to portray there ? "MESSIAH"..compare him to God and try to set him up for failure. But then you are the one comparing him to God aren't you. You left out the birth certificate stuff. These are the common tools of you extreme right wing folks. I think Rive invented them. Very light on thoughtful analysis of any sort and heavy on the slogans and culture clash branding. Very appealing to those with emotional hot buttons but hollow and ineffective on rational people. Suckered in the religious right for few years until they saw past it. Palin used them heavily in the election specifically because she had no reliable grasp of policy issues to rely on. Where did it get her ? Too many rational people around these days...............thankfully.

I am perfectly healthy and in need of no medication, thank you for your concern though. Government funded meds? Yeah, when I do take meds, they are government funded because our government funds the big pharmeceutical companies to the tune of billions a year while their stockholders reap the profits. Are your parents elderly (assuming you know who they are)? If so they are probably on or near the age where they will receive Medicaid benefits. Are you going to say with a straight face that they or you are going to refuse medicaid when eligible? If your house is on fire, or being burglarized, are you going to refuse govt assistance, i e the fire and police departments? I'll bet you're a libertarian who will put out his own fire, or be willing to reimburse the fire fighters and police for their trouble. Am I right? Why can you and your right wing cohorts never post a comment without attempting to deliver what you perceive as an insult or put down? Are your arguments so weak that you have to resort to adolescent snark, instead of making valid points? You repeat the tired myth of the 'librul media,' (and refer to your President by what you perceive to be a derogatory term,) but offer no examples of bias, just generalities. I can type pages of examples of put downs of Hillary Clinton and other liberals, refer you to many, many pages of WaPo and NYTimes' cheerleading bush-cheney's illegal war, (ever hear of judith miller?) endless appearances of Rumsfeld, cheney, rice and other neocons on the networks every Sunday to scare us to death with their visions of impending doom, without the slightest bit of counter argument from any of these 'librul' broadcasters and writers.
