Magna Cum Fraud: Top Schools for Scoundrels

People behind financial crisis went to same universities

Share

(Newser) – Many of the bigwigs involved in the financial crisis went to the same few elite schools, notes Joe Weisenthal in Business Insider. Maybe, he writes, when the crisis begins to fade, we’ll think twice about having another Harvardian or MIT grad running things. Among the offending institutions:

  • New York University: Ex-Lehman CEO Dick Fuld, ex-Lehman CFO Erin Callan, Rep. Charlie Rangel, investor Carl Icahn, former Fed boss Alan Greenspan. Grade: D-

  • Dartmouth College: Treasury chief Tim Geithner, ex-Treasury chief Henry Paulson, ex-AOL CEO Ron Grant. B
  • MIT: Ex-Merrill CEO John Thain, Fed boss Ben Bernanke, Obama adviser Larry Summers, Ex-HP CEO Carly Fiorina. C
  • Harvard University: George W. Bush, Henry Paulson, ex-Merrill CEOs John Thain and Stan O’Neal, GM boss Rick Wagoner, Rep. Barney Frank, Enron’s Jeff Skilling. F+

They did exactly as they were trained to do. This was not an unfortunate accident. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/26793903/the_big_takeover/ Reply

Yeah, I like reading a magazine that can trash "manufactured consumerism from corporate interests" in an article, then give four stars to the newest Jonas Bros. offering less than twenty pages later.

Did you read the article, northeast. Do you have an argument against it's premise, or do you just want to ad hominem hominem hominem? Reply

Anyone ever go to business school or pre-business? I had saw some business students in my econ classes and I must say they're the slimiest students I've ever seen. They were perfectly willing to cheat, sabotage, steal, and do whatever was required to finish their classes, get their degrees and get their 6-fiigure jobs. Reply
