(Newser) – Barbara Walters intends to retire when her contract is up this summer, sources tell the National Enquirer. Though ABC would apparently like to keep the veteran interviewer, Walters, 79, is “burned out,” and wants to spend more time with her boyfriend. “I don’t want to be 80 and working the phones to land an interview with one of the nobodies who pass for celebrities today,” Walters told one friend.

The women of the View can be annoying , loud & rude. They can also be very interesting. The View is no better or worst than a lot of talk shows. I'm not a regular View watcher but i'm sure there are other shows that deserve cancellation before the View.

She lost a lot of cred with me for The View. Those women have never had an opinion that didn't make my skin crawl. Ugh.
