Dems to GOP: Draft Your Own Budget

Share

(Newser) – Frustrated Senate Democrats today urged their GOP counterparts to stop criticizing President Obama’s proposed budget and provide an alternative, the Hill reports. “If it were easy to write a budget, then the Republicans would be writing one,” Dick Durbin said. Republicans responded that as the minority, that wasn’t their responsibility. “We will offer a series of alternatives by amendment,” a spokesman said.

nObama, Pelosi, and Reid...oh, MY! Faced with control of the White House and an overwhelming majority in both houses of congress, the democrat party still cannot get its act together. The democrat party can pass whatever they want without Republican support. Are they afraid to take responsibility for the nonsense that the Messiah is proposing? Gee, maybe not the party of CHANGE unless that's all you want in your pocket at the end of the day. Reply

I agree. Seriously, they have control of it all, what do they care if the repubs vote for or agianst it? It will pass even if all repubs vote no. I suspect they are worried that if the budget bill tanks, and I believe it will, they can then point fingers and share the blame. If it was so fantastic, they wouldn't even be whining about bipartisan support.

you should be happy that there's tension and resistance in the process. That's why we have the government split into different branches. It's true there's still a deficit, but the long term debt has been cut back significantly from what it was in the Bush years, despite being in the middle of the worst recession since the great depression. The process is working, and the budget is being trimmed, largely because the republicans are doing a good job at bitching and moaning.
