Tiger Gears Up for Championship

(Newser) – Tiger Woods hopes to carry last week's success at Firestone over to this week's PGA Championship at Southern Hills, a course where he's struggled in the past—he finished 12th there in the 2001 US Open. But his strategy will be markedly different from the one that carried him to victory at Firestone, the world No. 1 tells Golf's Pat Mahoney in a chat on the range.

Tiger says he will limit the number of drivers he uses, a strategy that brought him success at the British Open at Hoylake in 2006. They also mused about how the course set-ups have gotten tougher. "It seems like every course we go to has been lengthened and they change pars around," Woods said. "If they can change Pebble Beach to a par 71, they can pretty much do anything." Woods is counting on this win as it's his last chance to break his 0-for-3 record in this year's majors.
