Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama delivered their sharpest attacks yet at each other's foreign policy visions at a debate last night in Obama's hometown. Newsday writes that the two senators went after each other with unprecedented ferocity: Clinton suggested that Obama was naive and unschooled in diplomacy, while Obama cited Clinton's authorization of the Iraq war.

Clinton blasted as undiplomatic and destablizing Obama's recent vow that he would invade Pakistan if necessary to counter an al-Qaeda threat. The Illinois senator countered by calling it "amusing" that Clinton would tell him where or where not to send troops after authorizing "the worst policy disaster in our generation." Clinton continues to enjoy a 22-point lead in the latest Gallup poll. (More labor stories.)
