Gitmo So 'Fun,' Miss Universe 'Didn't Want to Leave'

'It was very interesting,' she writes in blog

(Newser) – Not many people have fun at Guantanamo Bay, but Miss Universe did. Caracas-born beauty Dayana Mendoza visited the US naval base surrounded by barbed wire and watchtowers yesterday, and had a "relaxing, calm" time, she said. It was a "loooot of fun!" she wrote in her blog. "We visited the detainees' camps and we saw the jails, where they shower. It was very interesting. I didn't want to leave." Her visit was sponsored by the USO.

You must interpret this properly. She didn't go there to oversee 'alternate interrogation' techniques. She's there as part of the USO. She is there to entertain the troops. I'm sure she meant she had 'a relaxing, calm time' being treated as a pseudo celebrity, with welcome arms and nice accommodations, by the US military. Judging by the amount of O's in her "loooot of fun!", it sounds like someone may have 'entertained' her until her toes curled. Reply
