Don't Let Dems Steal NY Election: GOP to Donors

Republicans are rallying donors behind Jim Tedisco in preparation for a possible legal battle over the results of yesterday’s US House election in upstate New York, the Hill reports. In an email to donors today, GOP leaders say Democrats are preparing to “steal” the seat. Democratic candidate Jim Murphy leads the race to succeed Kirsten Gillibrand by 59 votes, but no absentee ballots have been counted.

The decision of a Minnesota state court in favor of Al Franken in his post-election Senate tussle with Norm Coleman seems to have galvanized the GOP. “Democrats have almost succeeded in stealing the election in Minnesota and seating Al Franken,” wrote Guy Harrison of the National Republican Congressional Committee. “We cannot allow them to manipulate electoral results to seat another tax-troubled liberal.” (More GOP stories.)
