IT worker was discovered last year

(Newser) – An aspiring supermodel who happens to be Sikh will appear in GQ’s Style magazine wearing a turban, the Telegraph reports. Sonny Caberwal, discovered by Kenneth Cole last year, posed in a black dinner jacket with a pink turban and in a white tuxedo with a yellow turban. Caberwal worked in the IT industry before being discovered by Kenneth Cole.

“Cole was looking for a turbaned man for their 25th anniversary campaign, but could find no professional Sikh model. My brother-in-law suggested that I email a photo to them, and the rest is history,” Caberwal said, adding that he hopes his appearance will help other Sikh men: “It's not about me, but about Sikh identity and about our culture and traditions being in a positive light to people around the world.”
