(Newser) – Politicians are too scared of looking poorly informed to appear as contestants on Jeopardy!, the game show’s host tells Politico. “We’d be hard-pressed to come up with more than three,” says Alex Trebek, in the Washington area promoting tryouts, “because most of them realize the danger of appearing on camera and not being particularly bright with regards to what’s going on in our country.”

“So they don’t want to take that chance,” Trebek adds. “There have been very few elected political officials who have appeared on Celebrity Jeopardy, and they have not done very well.”

Maybe it's just regular folks that find the tired repetition annoying and the people that keep repeating the same lines over and over thinking they are clever to be as shallow as the lampoon they are trying to impose on someone they don’t know. How about that?

Razor-smart, or rock-dumb, it doesn't matter. Sarah Palin's reputation for smarts and buffoonery has been set in concrete by SNL and the late night comics, The jokes will go on and on, perhaps forever, until she screws up Alaska and loses the next election. Sorry if that offends any pseudo Republican die-hard losers out there, who still incredibly believe that Sarah Palin was a good choice as John McCain's running mate.
