Bonds Breaks Record Again

Bochy celebrates his own milestone as Giants shut out Nats

(Newser) – Barry Bonds broke the home run record again last night -- and this time it was his. Bonds hit #757 in last night's 5-0 win over the Nationals to a notable lack of pomp, though it could have been that the celebration was reserved for manager Bruce Bochy's 1,000th win.

Bochy says he's happy that the focus will be off the homer race for the rest of the season, which hasn't exactly been a record-setting one: Last night's victory was one of fewer than 50 so far for the Giants, who are in the basement by 15 games. "We'd like to finish the last six or seven weeks on a good note," Bochy said.
