Colbert Fights 'Gay Storm'

(Newser) – Stephen Colbert has taken up the cause against gay marriage, the Huffington Post reports. A recent web ad from the National Organization for Marriage—which apparently was serious—featured a “rainbow coalition” of actors solemnly declaring, “A storm is coming.” That, and New York's move toward legalizing same-sex marriage, motivated Colbert to start a rainbow coalition of his own.

“Did you know that if all 50 states approve gay marriage, straight marriage becomes illegal?” says one of Colbert’s coalition members. “I like gay people, but only as hilarious best friends in TV and movies,” says another. Colbert’s biggest complaint about gay marriage? “As it is it’s impossible to get a wedding announcement in the Times.”

The fact a slick piece of bullshit swayed you into believing it was true, speaks volumes about republicans and their relationship with Fox or Rush.

As his ad says: "Paid for by an organization that may or may not be the Mormon Church."

Yeah, I thought the first video was satire at first too...but no, apparently that's actually something that an actual organization paid for.
