A pregnant woman killed her 9-year-old daughter and stabbed herself in the stomach to kill her unborn child, authorities in the Boston suburb of Quincy said today. Fang Chi Xue, 38, was treated for self-inflicted stab wounds to the arms and abdomen and is expected to be arraigned on two counts of murder. She was 7½ months pregnant.
Police were called to the family home last night by a 14-year-old girl who survived the attack after suffering minor injuries. The district attorney said the 9-year-old suffered stab wounds to her wrists, but authorities are also investigating whether she was poisoned. The incident was sparked by an argument, the DA said.
