Playboy Names Miami Top Party School
San Diego State is ranked No. 3.   (San Diego State University)

Promising to make the ranking an annual tradition, Playboy today named its top 10 US party schools, using an algorithm weighing hot temperatures, guy-girl ratio, empty rooms available for sex, and even GPA. “Think of this as a BCS rating, but unlike the BCS we welcome your input,” the editors write—and, fittingly, the University of Miami tops a list heavy with sports powerhouses. “When you combine weather and women, no city in the country is hotter than Miami.”

The best of the rest:

  1. University of Texas at Austin: “Everything is actually bigger in Texas: Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium, parties, cup sizes, etc.”
  2. San Diego State University: Its motto: “Study hard, party harder,” said a student.
  3. University of Florida: “Our athletic teams are a constant cause for celebration,” a student observed.
  4. University of Arizona: “Consider some of its party names: Natural Disaster, Heaven and Hell, Fubar, Jungle Party.”
