(Newser) – Meghan McCain likes being able to share the "humorously uncensored" moments of her life on Twitter but she's not so thrilled about sharing them with the likes of Karl Rove, she writes in her Daily Beast blog. "I am now being followed by Karl Rove, and my local sheriff, and God knows how many other political pundits," McCain writes. "We need to take Twitter back from the creepy people."

Rove's own Twitter feed was initially intriguing as it came from a supposedly "inaccessible man-behind-the-curtain figure," but his updates turned out to be dull and devoid of substance, McCain sniffs. Twitter is still maturing as a means of communication, "but I can’t shake the fact that Karl Rove is following me—it can be creepy. So watch out," she writes.

(NEWSER) - A Kansas teen who blasted her conservative governor in a tweet is refusing to apologize—even though she has been ordered to do so by her school. "Just made mean comments at Gov. Brownback and told him he sucked, in person #heblowsalot," Emma Sullivan, 18, tweeted to pals during a speech by Gov. Sam Brownback at a Youth in Government event. In fact, she didn't diss him to his face, but was "just joking" with friends, she explained later. However, Brownback's aides, who monitor tweets about their guy, complained to Sullivan's school, reports the Kansas City Star . But Emma is defying her principal's orders to write a letter of apology. "I would do it again," the self-described liberal told AP . "I've decided not to write the letter but I hope this opens the door for average citizens to voice their opinion and to be heard," she tweeted. More»

"I'm very excited," said McCain, 28, in her broadcast staff debut yesterday as she weighed in on the GOP field. "I didn’t know it was going to be announced, but I am excited to join the MSNBC family." Gawker was less enthusiastic about McCain, who cut her political-analyst teeth on her own blog and via the Daily Beast.
