Craigslist Suspect: 'Bully' With Gambling Habit

Markoff won big at casino two days after Brisman's death

(Newser) – Accused Craigslist killer Philip Markoff was an awkward teenager with a penchant for bullying girls, reports the Boston Herald, not to mention a serious gambler at the Indian casino where his mother worked. One high school classmate said Markoff "had this hatred for people he thought were beneath him," adding, "I think he had a complex."

Markoff's taste for gambling was so strong that he went to Foxwoods Casino two nights after the murder of Julissa Brisman, where sources say he won $5,300. The district attorney in the case speculated that his gambling problem and desire to dominate women both motivated the killing and robberies. "He chose women who were living somewhat on life's margins, so that he could dominate them, abuse them," said the prosecutor.

I earned my RN (BSN) in '77, I've been in nursing over 30 years, most every person in medicine in there because of their desire to heal, not to 'depersonalize' the very beings we wish to serve. As far as egos go, cops, as a group, seem much more full of themselves. And finally, Hitler was probably of below average intellect, no way he'd graduate med school, much less make it thru a surgical residency. What a stupid statement
