(Newser) – Accused Craigslist killer Philip Markoff’s parents visited him for the first time today at the Boston jail where he is being held, the Boston Globe reports. Richard Markoff and Susan Haynes, who are divorced, did not speak to the press. Asked by reporters what the parents dreaded most about the visit, their son's attorney, John Salsberg, responded, “All of you.”

“This is difficult for them. They love their son very much, they are supportive of him. That’s what they would say if they are speaking to you,” Salsberg told the press corps. “Of course they remain very concerned about him. But they would really ask that all of you respect their privacy.”

I like how they want to keep their privacy they should have taught their son that so that he wouldn't go murdering young girls! So much for privacy. They should be out sending flowers and comforting their son's victim parents.
