(Newser) – New evidence of blood in the Portuguese hotel room where little Madeleine McCann was kidnapped while her family was on vacation has raised fears among police that she was killed, reports the AP. Blood traces found on the walls are currently being analyzed in Britain, according to a Portuguese investigator, who said they give new "intensity" to the murder theory.

"Clues have been found that could point to the possible death of the little child," he said. Highly trained sniffer dogs from Britain found the evidence within the last few days. Madeleine's family and supporters marked 100 days since her disappearance yesterday at a local church. Her parents have continued to express optimism that she'll be found—alive.
