Fox Nixes Obama's Airtime Request

Network decides Tim Roth trumps president in sweeps programming

Share

(Newser) – Fox is passing on President Obama's news conference tomorrow night in favor of a new episode of Tim Roth’s drama Lie to Me, reports the Los Angeles Times. The president's requests for airtime—tomorrow makes four in under 100 days—have caused some griping among networks worried about their bottom lines, although Fox is the first to tell the administration "No, we can't."

President Obama's repeated requests for prime-time coverage have irked some networks, although some say that their government licenses oblige them to carry the conferences as a public service.

Two things...they're BECOMING a joke? Secondly, in this situation...they're right. The media isn't the personal tool of any politician.

'The media isn't the personal tool of any politician." OMG. What planet have you been living on. For 8 years, Fox was the sanctioned tool of Bush and Cheney. Reply

Partisan losers? Do any of you people even bother to go to the source and READ THE WHOLE ARTICLE? Now I know why you are so nasty in your comments, you're ignorant of "the whole story" and you seem to be ok with that! (RE: actual whole article. Obama WILL be on Fox News AND Fox Business Network. ) Reply

You’re right, they don't read, bunn. They just knee-jerk their way along producing little one-liners and self congratulate at how clever they are.
