Republicans Think Colbert's Serious: Study

Conservatives actually think comedian is conservative, too

(Newser) – If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “Geez, why do Republicans keep letting Stephen Colbert interview them?” some Ohio State researchers might have the answer: They don’t realize he’s making fun of them. According to a new study, conservatives “were more likely to report that Colbert only pretends to be joking, and genuinely meant what he said.” Just wait until these guys see his 2006 White House Correspondents Dinner show," writes Jason Linkin of the Huffington Post. That's some great pretend joking, there.

When republicans hear the words they ache to hear, they switch off and merely absorb the income messages. Republicans can't separate reality and 'the message'. When Colbert says the right sequence of magic words, republicans don't hear satire, they hear gospel

Republicans didn't catch Colbert make negative remarks about Glen Beck. On election night Colbert had tears of joy for Obama. His show is a parody of O'Reily.

Look, conservatives don't believe in volcanoes or pandemics, think there really was a time when families were like in "Father Knows Best" and don't realize that evolution is as valid as gravity. I'm not shocked that they don't get satire. Geeze.
