Obama: NYC Flyover 'Was a Mistake'

Low flight that sparked alarm 'will not happen again,' says prez

(AP) – President Barack Obama says it was a mistake for one of his official airplanes to be sent zooming through the New York City skyline for a publicity photo shoot. "It was a mistake, as was stated," he said. "It will not happen again." Early yesterday, one of the Boeing 747s used by Obama and an F-16 jet circled the Statue of Liberty, startling workers in Manhattan who feared a replay of the Sept. 11 attacks.

I don't believe you will find anything that suggests the President sanctioned or pre-approved this action. However, I agree, it was not a bright thing for the administration to do. Lula, it's okay to criticize the administration where needed, even if we otherwise agree with them on most other things.
