GOP YouTube Debate On Again Despite Holdout Mitt

Posted Aug 13, 07 3:38 AM CDT in Politics Technology US

(Newser) – The Republican YouTube debate—on hold after candidates witnessed how wacky the format could be in the Democratic debate—is on again, the Washington Post reports. The lone holdout is Mitt Romney, fresh from his victory in the Iowa straw poll. Romney, ironically, has posted more videos on his YouTube site than any other candidate.

"I think the presidency ought to be held to a higher level than having to answer questions from a snowman," said Romney, referring to an oddball YouTube questioner. That in turn prompted a video response from the snowman, who urged Romney to "lighten up slightly."  The debate, scheduled for November, has already elicited some 1,100 video questions.
