Driver Clings to Stolen Truck in 70-Mile Cop Chase

Share

(Newser) – A driver leaped onto his stolen truck as it pulled out of Georgia parking lot and held on for a 70-mile high-speed cop chase, reports CNN. The driver called police from his cell phone from the truck, and clung to the rig as the thief gunned it. The getaway was finally foiled by police spike strips that deflated the tires. The trucker leaped to the roadway as the rig slowed. The thief was nabbed and no one was hurt.

I want to shake that driver's hand! That's what Americans are all about, risking everything to keep what is their own. Reply

Yes, only Americans risk "everything to keep what is their own". Other countries citizens find their possessions meaningless. Good point [/sarcasm]

risking everything over a truck that should have been insured!! that's just being moronic at best! If you're about to steal my truck/car there's no way in hell i'm jumping on the back of it. Chances are you're crazy and will wind up flipping it and i'd be on the back... hmmmm... no thanks!! i'd rather just call the insurance company and say "hey... guess what, chances are you might owe me a new truck, or some serious repairs on it" Reply
