I think that people are judging Kate really harshly. She saw an opportunity for make a great living for her family, which is something that a nurse and an IT tech could never have done, and still be an at-home mother. She is the dominant one in this marriage, but it takes someone lying back passively to let the dominant one take over. If she hadn't taken matters into her own hands, where would they be right now? They would be struggling financially, Jon would stilll probably have strayed, because he just is that much of a tool. As it is, they have enough money to provide for their kids, and go their seperate ways. I admire her for her organizational skills, her desire to give her kids the best, and her ability to make the best of an agonizing situation. You could plainly see that the thought of not being with her kids daily is painful for her. Yes, she is controlling. In a family that large, someone needs to be, and it sure wasn't going to be Jon. He's too busy driving around in his little flash car, going nowhere, like he was when he met Kate. I did like her better before she got too glammed up, and started her book tours, but again, that's her job. If I were in the public eye that much, and got a chance to have some time on the road without my kids, I would probably take advantage of it, and get a nice makeover too. Who wouldn't? How many parents have to leave their families for a few days at a time to make a living? Why aren't they as severely criticized? I would like to see the show end, though, because it's just hard to watch now. They have made enough money to set them up well, even split two ways. I wish the children all the best. I actually wish the best for all of them, even cheating Jon, who has a rude awakening coming his way, when he realizes that most 23 year olds aren't interested in him if he's not on TV. The loss of his children on a daily basis will be something he will regret. Reply
