(Newser) – Jon & Kate Plus 8 star Jon Gosselin denies rumors that he’s cheating on wife Kate, People reports. He says the woman he was spotted with at a bar is just a friend, but adds, “being out with [her] late at night showed poor judgment on my part.” Elsewhere:

Contrary to recent rumors, Hugh Hefner is just friends with ex Holly Madison. “The notion that I would want her back as a girlfriend is bizarre,” Hef tells E! “I am now in one of the best relationships in memory with Crystal Harris and the twins.”

There’s a ghost in the American Idol mansion, and her name is Phyllis, contestants tell People. She’s “just a friendly troublemaker. She bangs around and keeps people awake,” says Anoop Desai. But not all the Idols are convinced: “I'm like, ‘OK, you guys,’” says Lil Rounds.

(NEWSER) - This has got to be some sort of record: Jersey Shore and its cast members have now racked up 15 lawsuits in two years. The latest, courtesy of Courthouse News Service : A woman celebrating her niece's birthday at a bar in Seaside Heights, NJ, claims that drunk Jersey Shore cast members caused a brawl that eventually involved club security and show security. In the chaos, she was struck and hit her head, resulting in "severe and permanent injuries," according to her lawsuit. More»

Thousands Beg in Petition: No More Kardashians!

(NEWSER) - Perhaps you just can’t bring yourself to Occupy Wall Street, but we think we’ve found a cause everyone can finally get behind. A new online petition, titled “ No More Kardashian ,” calls for E! to boot the family from the airwaves, and ABC News reports that as of Tuesday, 70,601 had signed (it's up to almost 160,000 as of this posting). It’s also worth mentioning that a “Boycott the Kardashians” Facebook page has more than 55,000 fans. The organizer of the petition tells Yahoo! TV , “It is a sad truth that many young people are looking up to this family and are modeling their appearance and behavior after them." More here . Well, Hugh Hefner apparently assumes you do, because he assures The Insider that Lohan’s spread is “classy. Very classy.” (And is she, as rumored , completely naked? “Oh yes.”) Her rep also said yesterday—with no apparent trace of irony—that the pictorial in the January/February issue is “very tasteful,” and that the accompanying interview “will let readers see another side of Lindsay,” People reports. (NEWSER) - Apparently Crystal Harris didn’t return her engagement ring to Hugh Hefner when she called off their engagement . But that’s good news for you, if you have between $20,000 and $30,000, because now it’s for sale at Christie’s auction house. Sources tell TMZ Harris simply “couldn't bear to look at the ring anymore because it brought back bad memories.” It will go up for auction next month. More»
