Alaska Rep. Disavows Twitter Impostor

Fake Don Young expounded on Obama, marshmallow fluff

Share

(Newser) – Whoever’s been masquerading as Rep. Don Young on Twitter is an impostor, Fox News reports. “Congressman Young is NOT currently using Twitter,” said a spokesman. “The messages posted seem to be the work of someone with a little too much free time on their hands.” Someone has been impersonating the Alaska Republican for about a week, sending out missives like, “Can anything top a peanut butter and marshmallow fluff sandwich?”

The posts on the bogus page—now suspended by Twitter—ranged from misinformation (“Buzz is that @MicheleBachmann is planning to introduce articles of impeachment for Obama today. Lots of R support”) to pure silliness (“Getting a law degree was great, because I could start using the emcee name ‘DJ Don JD’”). Bachmann, for the record, is not planning impeachment articles. That we know of.
