NY Publisher to Issue OJ Book

Posted Aug 13, 07 4:35 PM CDT in Business Arts & Living Gossip US    Editor's Choice

(Newser) – OJ Simpson’s book hypothetically describing the murders of his ex-wife Nicole and Ron Goldman will finally be published, Reuters reports. The Goldman family will “leave Simpson’s manuscript entirely intact, but they will also add key commentary,” a spokesman for their literary agent said. Under a court agreement reached last month, the Goldmans own all rights to the book.

Simpson, who owes the Goldmans  $33.5 million in damages, will receive no money from its publication. If I Did It includes a first-person account of how the 1994 murders might have been committed;  400,000 copies were printed by HarperCollins last fall, but withdrawn and destroyed. The name of the new publisher will be released tomorrow.
