Palin Besieged by Ethics Complaints

Alaska's GOP chief: number of grievances 'unprecedented'

(Newser) – The world’s most famous hockey mom is skating on thin ice with some of her constituents, Politico reports. Sarah Palin has fielded more than a dozen complaints from Alaskan citizens in the last 7 months, concerning everything from the governor’s use of state funds, her political action committee, and even a jacket she wore to a snow machine race.

Palin supporters deride complainants’ “tortured logic” and say their penchant for notifying the media and bloggers of their grievances indicates political motives. Palin’s efforts to defend herself have cost more than $500,000 in legal debts and forced her to set up a defense fund—which one detractor says amounts to “putting a for-sale sign on our Alaska governor’s office.”

In the past several months, we have seen an orchestrated effort by the governor’s opponents to make differences of opinion and ideology almost criminal.

Governor Palin constantly blurs the lines between her personal and political interests and the interests of Alaskans. Alaskans are fed up and are finally doing something about it.

Cripes. The things she really did do wrong, like use per diem days while staying at home and abusing travel privileges to take her family with her for free are going to be completely buried over meaningless fabricated junk like that jacket at the snowmobile race. You can always be sure democrats will shot themselves in the foot somehow.

Dozens of complaints of ethics violations are a lot if they're valid. Where there's smoke there's fire.

Yes I'd love it if the GOP nominates her in 2012. She'll be crushed in the election.
