(Newser) – Stocks were modestly higher at the open, with the Dow up 58 points, and the Nasdaq and S&P each up 0.6%. Airline stocks got a boost, with Delta up 6% as swine flu panic waned, while General Motors rose after Fiat stepped up its plan to buy up German unit Opel.
