Elizabeth to Oprah: It's 'Complicated'

(Newser) – Elizabeth Edwards is taking married life day by day—or "maybe it's month by month"—she tells Oprah, in an episode to air Thursday. When asked whether she still loves her husband, she responds, "You know, that's a complicated question," the AP reports. "I wanted him to be faithful to me," Edwards says. "It was enormously important to me."

Edwards also describes "other woman" Rielle Hunter as being very different from her and her husband. "We're basically old-fashioned people," Edwards says in O magazine. "So, this was a pretty big leap for him. Maybe it's being so different is what was attractive." As for whether her husband fathered Hunter's child, "I've seen a picture of the baby. I have no idea. It doesn't look like my children but I don't have any idea."

Sadly, it's not that complicated. Oldest story in the book. I'm still stunned JE would do something like this, and the fact that she's a class act makes it even harder to take. Reply

She's putting up with this b.s. because she's dying and she knows how much her kids need their father around. Pretty noble but it's got to really suck. I wonder if he's really ever going to realize the depths of what he did. Reply
