Savage May Sue Britain for Banning Him

Radio host fumes over making extremist list

Share

(Newser) – Radio yakker Michael Savage isn't amused that he's ended up on a list of people banned from Britain for spreading hate. The conservative talk show host told the San Francisco Chronicle he's considering legal action. "Today it's me. Tomorrow it's someone else," he said. "The land of the Magna Carta has now become the land of the mini-Carta."

Savage—who has branded the Koran a "book of hate"—says he has no idea how he ended up on the list, which also includes Muslim extremists and Russian gang members. "Does she not think people might hunt me down?" he asked of British Home Secretary Jacqui Smith. And in a reminder of the scope of his audience, he added, "Who else will be banned? All the people who listen to my show, 10 million people? Should they also not go to Britain?"

This lunatic is linking me up with Nazi skinheads who are killing people in Russia. I have never advocated violence ... I've been on the air 15 years. My views may be inflammatory, but they're not violent in any way. - Michael Savage

Interesting. Yusef Islam AKACat Stevens, a Brit, spreads a message of peace and love, can't fly into the U.S. Meanwhile, an American, Michael "The Weiner" Savage, spreads a message of hatred, can't enter England...what does this say about America and England? Reply

It obviously doesn't reflect well on these two nations where originated the Declaration of Independence and the Magna Carta. Quite disappointing.

As for the 10 million estimated Savage listeners, they should all go to some island, somewhere. I don't think Britain is the most appropriate one. Reply

Right - You are probably better than the 10 million listeners of Savage. You are probably just a better person in general. You are probably such a wonderful person that you would espouse social stratification... wait - you just did. Funny isn't it. Would you like to live in a world where we send people like the listeners of Savage to another country? I think many skinheads feel the same way about people because of their skin color or beliefs. Look who you just got lumped with.
