Liberal arts grads aren't faring much better

(NEWSER) - Students majoring in the liberal arts or architecture may want to rethink their degree choices in light of the job market. Recent college grads armed with those academic credentials experienced higher rates of unemployment, a new study out of Georgetown's Center on Education and the Workforce shows. From the Washington Post :

• Worst degrees/jobless rates: Architecture (13.9%), the arts (11.1%), and the humanities (9.4%)
• Best: Health (5.4%), education (5.4%), and agriculture and natural resources (7%)

Host Jimmy Fallon joined by a bunch of alums

(NEWSER) - If you missed Saturday Night Live last night, you actually missed something. The holiday show featured plenty of blasts from the past—specifically, Rachel Dratch, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Horatio Sanz, Chris Kattan, and Tracy Morgan, not to mention host Jimmy Fallon—and it was a classic. Among the highlights:

• Jesus (Jason Sudeikis) appears in the Denver Broncos' locker room to talk to none other than Tim Tebow. "I pray to you before every game," explains Tebow. An unimpressed Jesus responds, "Here's something else you should do before the game: stretch. Get the arm warm. Read the playbook ... seriously." Network execs want to clear all choices after Bachmann incident

(NEWSER) - Bad news for those of you who were highly amused by Questlove's choice of walk-on song for Michele Bachmann: It won't be happening again. The Late Night With Jimmy Fallon drummer tells Rolling Stone he was informed the very next morning that he must now clear every song with three NBC executives. "It was a real bummer," adds Fallon. "We don’t want to censor anyone, but … I don’t know. Maybe Questlove is a Romney guy." More»

VP calls Fallon incident 'unacceptable'

(NEWSER) - Apparently outrage from Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck , and Michele Bachmann herself did the trick: NBC’s vice president sent a personal letter to Bachmann apologizing for the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon walk-on song incident , the AP reports. The VP called it “not only unfortunate but also unacceptable,” and said Fallon’s band, The Roots, has been “severely reprimanded.” Fallon himself, who first apologized via tweet , also told Bachmann he was sorry when they spoke yesterday; Bachmann’s rep says the host was unaware of the plan to play the “disrespectful” song.
