(Newser) – Press Secretary Robert Gibbs today distanced the administration from 9/11-related comments made by comedian Wanda Sykes at the White House Correspondents dinner, Politico reports. Some things “are better left for serious reflection,” Gibbs said. “There's no doubt 9/11 is part of that.” Sykes suggested that “Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker, but he was just so strung out on Oxycontin he missed his flight.”

I guess if you're the White House ytou have to be politically correct-and it is difficult for thoise closely affected by 9/11 to joke about especually if they lost a loved one-but we have jokes about the Titanci-Peral Harbor-etc Jokes actually help us deal with material that is sometimes anxiety producing-in this case it was merely an attack on a character-I mean on someones character.
