Let's Put Cheney Out to Pasture

VP is a veritable font of nonsense

Share

(Newser) – Isn’t it time we sent Dick Cheney back to Wyoming, found him a home “where the buffalo roam and there’s always room for one more crazy old coot down at the general store?” Eugene Robinson asks in the Washington Post. It’s no wonder the TV networks love him: “Unrestrained by protocol or objective reality, he’s pretty much guaranteed to say outrageous things.”

Cheney was again blasting President Obama for removing the Bush administration’s illegal terror policies—though, Robinson notes, he can’t actually prove that legal tactics wouldn’t have sufficed. Cheney went on to say he’d side with Rush Limbaugh over Colin Powell—a bombastic radio talking head over a paragon of public service. “Cheney goes with the gasbag,” Robinson scoffs. Makes perfect sense. The buffalo are going to love this guy.

For the final act of his too-long public career, Cheney seems to have decided to become an Old Faithful of self-serving nonsense. - Eugene Robinson

As far as he's concerned, issues have just one side — his — and anyone who disagrees must secretly wish to deliver our nation to al-Qaeda. - Eugene Robinson

The GOP continues to prove there is no room for thoughts and ideas other than what Rush says. Reply

I like opinionated people. But not when they are dangerous to my freedom and security. Dick Cheney has been in powerful positions for too long. In government or as the CIA front company Halliburton's CEO, Cheney is trouble. How many crooked deals did he approve of with Middle East tyrants who control half the world's oil? He scoffs at anyone that disputes his doctrine. He needs to be tried for war crimes, lying to the US public, approving torture, wounding his drunken friend and for being a Dick. Reply

I think it is time the public informed the media we are very tired of the political games and hearing Cheney and the rest of the cronies in this political tug of war. The Republican party, the torture tactics, and the failed finical (self serving) tactics of the last administration should be enough proof that the country wanted change and he is not wantd nor needed and should fade away quickly. He was put out to pasture already. His ego won't let him admit it. Reply
