Liz Cheney: Dad Is Not a Crazy Old Coot

Duty calls him to forgo retirement to bash Obama, daughter says

Share

(Newser) – Liz Cheney went on MSNBC’s Morning Joe today, firing back at Washington Post scribe Eugene Robinson for calling her dad a “crazy old coot.” Robinson had said we ought to send Cheney “back to Wyoming” where he could rant in peace. “My dad would probably rather be fishing in Wyoming, given his druthers,” she said. But he feels strongly that he must attack Obama instead.

Liz said she agrees with dad that defending the legality and effectiveness of waterboarding is important. “You want him to shut up because you disagree with what he’s saying,” she told Robinson, who was also on the show. She noted that no one was telling Al Gore to go back to Tennessee.

Dear Liz, the majority of Americans are not blinded by a child's love of the parent as you are. Your father Dick Cheney could have and should have bowed out gracefully as the President did that GW Bush Dick Cheney replaced. He is viewed by many as an evil old man who acted to enhance his own fortunes by using Blackwater as the funnel and Halliburton. He grew more rich over spilled American and Iraqi blood many of the Iraqi dead were and are children. He used his office to milk the country and glorify himself. Face Facts and convince him just to go away. Reply

Liz Cheney, no one cares what you think. Your opinion might be a bit biased. Why is this being reported as news. Reply

Cheney's a war criminal, but a smart one. He knows that as long as he keeps mouthing off, he can generate sympathy by claiming he's a political prisoner should he ever be prosecuted. Reply

Cheney is an evil and very scary person. He milk this country for all it's worth, and then thinks he can tell Obama what to do. Get lost,we have heard from you for the past eight years, and God forbid us from having to listen to your mouth any longer. Sorry Liz, but your Dad is a evil and dumb person. Didn't see you or your sisters fighting in Bush/Cheney war. Reply
