Plaintiff asking $4K for each of LA's Asian-Americans

(Newser) – Miley Cyrus, probably ruing the day she slanted her eyes in a picture, is pushing to toss a $4 billion lawsuit related to the photo, E! reports. Cyrus’ lawyers challenged Lucie Kim’s suit, citing a civil rights statute that basically says Kim doesn’t deserve money simply for being insulted. Plus, Kim acknowledged Cyrus “did not intend to discriminate,” according to the document. The hearing is set for June 4.

really? they really think she'll just pay up 4 billion and then they'd go and give it to all the chinese people? god damn people need to relax and get off their high horse. I know off the top of my head 10 asian-americans who think this whole think is stupid and funny, and they're FAR from insulted by a picture of some teenager being silly. Shit, everyone has at one time or another done the chinese slant eye joke. Infact, i'm doing it right now!!!

Medical records will be subpoenaed

(NEWSER) - The investigation into Whitney Houston's death is now turning to her doctors and pharmacies. Investigators are expected in the next few days to serve subpoenas on the singer's physicians and the pharmacies where Houston obtained multiple prescription drugs, reports the Los Angeles Times . Officials aim to determine whether the drugs were dispensed properly, and if the singer was receiving too many prescriptions, a source tells the newspaper. Investigators will likely pore over a state-created database of controlled substances prescribed in California. Tracking celebrity prescription drug use can be complicated because they may regularly use drugs prescribed to aides, according to law enforcement authorities. More»
