(Newser) – Farrah Fawcett's incarcerated son, Redmond O'Neal, was allowed out of prison to say farewell to his dying mother, reports the New York Daily News. O'Neal, serving time on drug charges, was allowed to visit his mother at her home the evening a documentary about her battle with cancer, Farrah's Story, aired on NBC. Last Friday's program was viewed by 9 million people, a network annual record for the time slot.

Redmond was also allowed out of prison last month to visit his mom. Dad Ryan O'Neal told him then to "live your life as a tribute to your mother."

I hope he is able to change his life-addictions usually take more than just wanting to stop-the brain gets addicted and the dopoamine flows-but we can hope it wroks out

If Ryan and Redmond do indeed honor her life with good works for the benefit of the less fortunate Farah's legacy will be far more meaningful than that Charley's Angels poster. Howzit shonangreg.

Also, It is so hard to know someone is going to die and either watch it happen or wait for it. Her show was heartbreaking. One of the biggest memories of my childhood was my 10-year older brother's classic Farrah poster on his bedroom wall. :(
