Hitler Memoir Gets English Translation

Share

(Newser) – After serving as Adolph Hitler’s adoring secretary for 12 years, Christa Schroeder recounted her experiences in a 1949 memoir, Hitler in Private. With an English translation on the way, the New York Post reveals some highlights—including an account of Hitler’s doctor injecting him with hormones from bull testicles. Some notable Hitler quotes from the memoir, now titled He Was My Chief: The Memoirs of Adolph Hitler's Secretary:

  • On his opposition to meat-eating: "The human is an evil animal of prey.”
  • On the Japanese: “The Japanese are yellow-skinned and slit-eyed, but they are fighting against Britain and the United States.”
  • On dieting: "I have to eat less, I am putting on fat, I must lose it!"
  • As the Allies closed in: "Remain calm. Berlin will remain German, we just have to gain time!"

I do not know whether his teeth were ever very attractive, but by 1945 they were yellow and he had bad breath. He should have grown a beard to hide his mouth. - Christa Schroeder

For Hitler, gratification came from the ecstasy of the masses. He was erotic with the women by whom he surrounded himself, but never sexual. - Christa Schroeder

Let's let this mass murderer disappear into history and not enrich some publisher with trivia about a perverted sadistic psychotic. Who would expect to find something meaningful here? Reply

Your a fool. He who writes off history is doomed to repeat it. Especially for such a important piece of modern history.
