Don't Count A-Rod's Homers: Wells

(Newser) – Former Yankees pitcher David Wells said slugger Alex Rodriguez should lose home runs for taking steroids, and other drug cheaters ought to be banned permanently, the New York Daily News reports. Wells made his comments as a play-by-play analyst at today's Yankees game. "It sucks because of the fact that these guys are playing dirty and that's not fair to the guys who busted their butt," Wells said.

"Just ban them right out of the get go," Wells said of players caught using banned substances, the New York Post reports. "I think that would be great. No 50-game suspension. That would stop it in a heartbeat, especially with the money they're giving out today."
