(NEWSER) - Easter and Passover are coming up, which means more embarrassing incidents at family get-together, plus a silver lining: You could potentially score a book deal. Chris Mathias, writing for Nerve , lists five blogs based on “familial eccentricities” that have scored their creators some cash—or at least some popularity:

• Shit My Dad Says : Moving back in with your parents doesn’t suck so bad when your 73-year-old father’s hilarious utterings end up getting you a TV show—starring William Shatner, no less.
• Tiny Art Director : An artist’s 5-year-old daughter offers harsh critiques of his work, often involving the addition of dinosaurs or dragons. The book will be out soon.

Magazine cover, exhibit raise money for homelessness charity

(NEWSER) - The portrait of Prince William gracing the cover of an upcoming issue of Hello! is unusual for its candidness—and for having been taken by a recovering drug addict. In a project to benefit Crisis, the homeless charity that helped Jeff Hubbard learn his craft, the prince also got behind the camera, shooting a portrait of Hubbard. Lawmakers look to require label on digitally altered photos

(NEWSER) - Amid the uproar over fashion photos whose models are airbrushed to teeny-tiny perfection, French politicians are proposing a law that would require any such photos to include a health warning, Reuters reports. Digitally altered ads, press photos, campaign art, packaging, and art photography would have to include “Photograph retouched to modify the physical appearance of a person” or be subject to a fine.
