A Drink Emerges to Calm Our Red-Bulled Nerves

(Newser) – Readers too hyped up on Red Bull and Rockstar can crack open a new drink to calm down: It's called Drank, Time reports. Makers of the purple-canned "relaxation beverage" say sales are soaring and 7-Eleven has agreed to stock it nationwide. "Something like this gives you a better night's sleep," said Innovative Beverage CEO Peter Bianchi, who said it's better than keeping "an old bottle of gin" in the drawer.

But Houston community leaders are shocked by Drank's link to an illegal booze mix called "purple drank." And Drank's ingredients have alarmed one pharmacist: "I would not recommend it," said David DiPersio, who warned that two ingredients, valerian and rose hips, "are not really reviewed by the FDA." Bianchi countered that Drank's ingredients are on the FDA's "Generally Regarded as Safe" list. "I can sleep at night," said Bianchi.

Bullshit sales are not soaring, Drank got kicked out of the 7-Eleven system because it would not sale. McLane Co. the major wholesaler who supplies the 7-Eleven chain nationally, reported that Drank was only selling in 5 out of 13 divisions. Drank re-fused to pick up it's product from the areas that it was not selling. Even when 7-Eleven encouraged Drank to take care of it's problem areas Drank refused. So Drank was kicked out of both McLane and 7-Eleven.

None FDA approved ingredients like melatonin, high fructose corn syrup and other cheap ingredients. Not to mention it taste bad.
