La. Teen Fires at Teacher, Shoots Himself

(Newser) – A Louisiana teenager shot himself in the head today after firing at a middle school teacher who refused to praise Marilyn Manson, Houmatoday.com reports. The 15-year-old Larose-Cut Off Middle School student, identified as Justin Doucet, left a suicide note saying he planned to go on a shooting spree. He remains in hospital in critical but stable condition, the AP reports.

Doucet stormed into a 7th-grade English class this morning shouting obscenities, and told teacher Jessica Plaisance to say "Hail Marilyn Manson." When she failed to praise the shock-rocker, Doucet fired a round in the wall above her head. He then went to the bathroom and shot himself. Students said they were surprised by the attack, but noted Doucet's love for Manson and Adolf Hitler trivia.

Wow...what makes a kid get so hung up on anything so much that it leads to this? I hope the media and whoever dont do a gangbang on Manson. My kid listened to Manson in his youth but now at the age of 22 realizes how silly that was. I always thought the Manson videos were weird but hardly dangerous and to my son he was just entertainment. I hope his family can find peace and all those involved are not traumatized. Reply
