Parents of Daughters Lean Left: Study

Share

(Newser) – A new study shows that parents with daughters are more likely to align themselves with left-wing parties, FiveThirtyEight.com reports. Building on earlier research that showed that parents of daughters leaned left on gender issues, sociologists surveyed a nationally representative random sampling of men and women, mostly from Great Britain. The pair found a strong correlation, especially among men. Those who had only sons, by contrast, leaned right.

This is confusing. Is there actually a study that shows Dems have more female children than Reps? Reply

Thick, much? The study shows a correlation between people who are parents to daughters and their political leanings, not that their political leanings affect their genetic output.

It's interesting but not at all surprising. People with daughters are going to naturally vote for a party that gives their daughters more rights and more power than the other party. Reply
