(Newser) – Monitored by the Treasury department, General Motors and the United Auto Workers have reached a tentative deal to modify conditions of their labor contract and retiree health care trust, which could save the flatlining automaker more than $1 billion. Still, Chapter 11 bankruptcy remains likely for GM, and union reps must approve the pact, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Changes to GM's labor agreement are expected to save more than $1 billion for the company.

No one seems to care about this story, so... why is it that the following Newser users consistently have the highest numbers of points but one never sees a comment posted by them : Ryan; Riazhahman; jemikeos; C_J ? Just curious about this. If they are getting their points by anonymously viewing it seems that perhaps there should be some way to earn points by putting comments on the pages as so many of us do.
